Sam Spady

  • The Sam Spady Project is our national philanthropy. Samantha Spady was a young student at Colorado State University and was good friends with many of the Sigma Pi’s on campus. Unfortunately, after a night of binge drinking Sam died of alcohol poisoning in CSU Sigma Pi’s chapter house. The brothers had not fully understood the dangers of alcohol poisoning and because of that Sam’s life was stopped short. Now every year the men of Sigma Pi around the nation honor Sam’s life by educating their fellow students at their respective institutions about the dangers of alcohol poisoning and binge drinking. This is done in a variety of creative and different ways throughout the nation, but as always the message is the same: one of safety, intelligence, and responsibility.
